Wersell’s Trail Maintenance
October 18 @ 6:15 pm - 8:00 pm
Welcome to the newest shop event that will coincide with our bi-weekly Saturday morning mountain bike rides. This ride will always take place the Friday evening before we have our Saturday morning trail to coffee mountain bike rides.
During this event it is our goal to help the local city parks of Ottawa and Jermain park to make sure that the mountain bike trail that resides inside of them gets to be the best that it can be. We have been granted permission to maintain as long as we do not erect any new features by the park board.
The largest issues this trail experiences is dead fall trees and overgrown grass. We will have some hand saws with us to clear any small trees and will be GPS marking and photographing any large trees to report back to the park for clearing the following week. We also welcome you to bring any rakes or machetes you might have to chop down tall grass and brush that has overgrown the trail in certain areas. If anyone has something like a sickle that could be even more useful in clearing the overgrown grass and brush we welcome it. We will also use this time to pick up any trash we come across. We look forward to working with the community in making this trail the best trail inside the city limits of Toledo.
We do recommend long pants and shirts to avoid contact with any poison ivy or similar plants. We fully expect some people to be on bike and others to be walking so come one come all regardless of your skill level as you can always help us hike and photograph the progress!
